As counseling psychologists, we will coach and guide you in improving your life skills. We will provide tools to rejuvenate your family and simplify parenting. We can work together to release you from anxiety and lead you towards an atmosphere of peace and serenity.

We help people deal with emotions and feelings around anger, anxiety, purpose, meaning, relationships and health. We also provide group virtual/online sessions in practising “mindfulness”.

The purpose of counseling is to coach and help you achieve your personal goals and gain greater insight into your lives. Our sessions will help you discover the drive and strength in you to reach that destination.

MENTAL HEALTH AND YOU

Mental health is the key to living a balanced life as it influences thoughts, behaviour and emotions. However, more often than not, the stigma attached to impaired mental health discourages people from seeking help. Seeking help is the first step towards getting and staying well. It’s very common to feel unsure and think that you should handle things on your own. But it is always okay to ask for help, even if you are not sure that you are experiencing a specific mental health problem. The sooner you do it, the better. Like any other medical condition, mental illness is also easiest to treat during its early stage.

AGEISM

“To care for those who cared for us is one of the highest honors” goes an unknown Facebook quote. Ageism is the negative attitude towards the process of ageing or towards older individuals. This attitude marginalizes older people within our communities and can cause a negative impact on their physical well-being and mental health. Ageism is an everyday challenge for older people. This needs more and better attention than it has received so far. Handling ageism will require a clear understanding of ageing by all generations. We need to break out of the outdated concept that older people are burdens, and instead demonstrate a willingness to encourage and motivate them to live happily and healthily.

STRESSED-OUT PARENTS

Your work could leave you stressed, busy and psychologically unavailable for your children.
NBCNews.com published an article on Live Science titled "Job stress can affect your children". The article makes this statement from their independent findings, Galinsky studied a nationally representative sample of more than 600 parents and 1000 children ranging from 3rd to 12th grade. Interviewers asked children for their one wish if they could change how a father or mother's work affected the child. More than half of the parents guessed their children would wish for more parents time. Wrong answer. Most children wished that their parents would be less stressed from work. "If our parents were less tired and stressed, I think that the kids would be less tired and stressed" said one of the interviewed children.
The only thing that truly matters is the quality of time spent as a parent with the children instead of just being there. As a parent we have to nurture, protect and guide our children
